Wilhelm Raabe Tower

Wilhelm Raabe Tower is a stone observation structure in Blankenburg positioned on Eichenberg hill, rising roughly 22 meters tall. Internal stairs lead to the viewing platform, where the landscape stretches across the surrounding Harz region.

The tower was built in 1896 as a Kaiser tower honoring Wilhelm II. Fifty years later, it was renamed after a prominent writer who shaped German literature.

The tower honors a significant German author from the 1800s, connecting the site to the region's literary heritage. This literary association transforms the structure into a place where visitors encounter both local history and cultural memory.

A staircase inside guides visitors to the viewing platform, with signage that explains the surrounding landscape and local landmarks. On clear days, the view stretches far across the Harz landscape.
