Bismarck Tower, Observation tower in Eschwege, Germany

The sandstone structure rises 26 meters high with a square base measuring 8 meters on each side, featuring a spiral staircase of 109 steps.

The tower was constructed in 1903 as part of a nationwide initiative to honor Otto von Bismarck, the first Chancellor of unified Germany.

This monument belongs to a collection of 240 towers built across Germany between 1869 and 1934, with 173 remaining structures today.

Located at 318.7 meters above sea level on Leuchtberg summit, the tower provides access to numerous hiking trails in the region.

The tower contains fire installations designed for ceremonial braziers that would illuminate on specific commemorative dates throughout the year.
