Technikmuseum Kummersdorf, Military technology museum in Am Mellensee, Germany
Technikmuseum Kummersdorf displays over one hundred vehicles from military and civilian backgrounds, including tanks, trucks, cars, and a large collection of engines. The exhibits span different decades and show the range of engine types and vehicle construction methods that existed across these periods.
The museum was founded in 1999 on the grounds of a former military research facility and operated a collection of vehicles from different technological development phases. The site itself had a long military history as a testing ground and later as a development center for weapons systems.
The exhibits show how transportation technology evolved across different periods and reflected various approaches to engineering and design. Visitors can trace which vehicle types were used in different eras and understand the changes in their construction.
The museum is located at Konsumstraße 5 in Kummersdorf-Gut and was mainly open on Sundays. Visitors should be prepared for walking across the site, as some vehicles are displayed outdoors.
The grounds served as an artillery testing field since 1875 and were later converted into a center for developing advanced weapons. This military past makes the location itself a part of technology history, alongside the objects on display.
