Molberger Dose

Molberger Dose is a protected nature reserve covering approximately 600 hectares in Lower Saxony, featuring a kettle bog ecosystem with diverse plant and animal life. The area offers several marked hiking trails that wind through different habitats and provide access to the full range of the landscape.

The area received official protection status in 1988 when the German government designated it as a habitat management zone under IUCN Category IV regulations. This designation reflected efforts to preserve an increasingly rare type of ecosystem.
