Rehberg tower, Observation tower in Waldrohrbach, Germany.
The Rehberg tower is a stone observation structure from the 19th century that stands at about 568 meters elevation. From its platform, you can see across the Palatinate Forest, the French Vosges mountains, and the low-lying Rhine Plain.
The tower was built in 1862 during a period when the region was developing tourist infrastructure. It came into existence as part of a broader movement to create viewpoints across the landscape for travelers and visitors.
The tower marks a meeting point between two nature reserves on opposite sides of the border and connects visitors to the shared landscape of the Palatinate and Vosges regions. People come here to experience the blend of two different natural areas in one view.
Multiple hiking paths lead up to the tower, with the main route taking roughly half an hour to walk. The terrain is relatively open and not too steep, making it accessible for most visitors.
On clear days, visitors can spot three medieval castles from the platform: Trifels, Anebos, and Münz. With better visibility, the distant mountain ranges of the Odenwald and Black Forest also come into view.
