Trampedachlager, Military heritage site in Flensburg, Germany
The Trampedachlager is a military compound on the northern side of Marineschule Mürwik in Flensburg's Mürwik district. Of the original seven barracks, two remain today, showing the typical form and scale of 1930s construction.
The compound was built in 1937 for Luftwaffe officer candidates and was originally known as Danziglager. It received its current name after Captain Claus Trampedach, who served during World War II.
The buildings display the architectural style of the 1930s and represent a period when military construction shaped the landscape. Visitors can see how these barracks were organized and which spaces were designed for soldiers' daily life.
The site is located at Kelmstrasse 14 in Flensburg and is accessible through the Mürwik district. Visitors should note that the compound is part of an active military complex and access may be limited.
After World War II, one of the buildings served an unexpected role as a grocery store in the 1950s. The site later housed refugees and federal employees, reflecting how such places were repurposed in postwar Germany.
