Weinheim war memorial, War memorial in Weinheim, Germany.
The Weinheim war memorial features three limestone soldier figures standing on an elevated platform within a semicircular setting. The surrounding walls display the names of those who died, creating a solemn space for reflection and remembrance.
The memorial was designed by sculptor Wilhelm Kollmar and built in 1936 to honor soldiers who died in World War I. Names of World War II victims were added to the monument in 1959.
The memorial reflects the architectural style of 1930s German monuments, featuring central designs and oversized sculptures positioned along main traffic routes.
The memorial is located at Bahnhofstrasse 14 in central Weinheim and is easily accessible on foot. The space regularly serves as a gathering place for commemorative ceremonies throughout the year.
Since 1999, an additional counter-memorial by artist Hubertus von der Goltz stands near the original monument. This work honors victims of violence, war, and persecution beyond just the soldiers commemorated in the main structure.
