Godsbanen

Godsbanen is a cultural center housed in restored buildings of a former freight yard in central Aarhus. The complex features artist studios, exhibition spaces, theaters, workshops, and dining facilities for visitors to explore.

The site began as a goods station that opened in 1923 and operated until 2000. After closure, the grounds were gradually transformed into a cultural center through renovation work between 2000 and 2012.

The space brings together artists, makers, and creative professionals who work on their projects in full view of visitors. You'll notice people collaborating openly across studios and shared areas throughout the complex.

The grounds are accessible for exploring outdoor areas and the rooftop with city views. For specific events, performances, or workshops, check current opening hours in advance.

Behind the main site sits an independent cultural project where entrepreneurs and craftspeople develop their work. This hidden space operates as a separate platform distinct from the main complex.
