Huset

Huset is a former warehouse converted into four floors of performance stages, galleries, and community spaces where shows and events happen regularly. The ground level includes a restaurant, gaming cafe, and public facilities, while upper floors provide room for different types of artistic work and exhibitions.

The building opened in 1970 as Denmark's first culture house, born from social movements that pushed for wider access to art for ordinary people. This founding represented a shift toward making artistic spaces available to everyone in the community.

The building serves as a meeting place where theater practitioners, musicians, and visual artists share spaces and develop work together. Visitors and creators use the venue as a hub for collaborative projects and artistic exchange that happens naturally throughout the week.

All performance spaces are accessible via elevators and ramps, making it easy to move between different areas regardless of mobility needs. Visitors should check the event schedule ahead of time, as programming changes throughout the week with different types of activities each day.

Within the building operates Teaterhuset, one of the country's largest theater communities with extensive programs focused on theater development and training. This specialized hub draws theater practitioners from across the region.
