El Mouradia Palace is the presidential residence in Algiers, featuring crystal chandeliers, mahogany furnishings, and oak decorative elements throughout its rooms. The interior design merges colonial elegance with North African architectural details in a cohesive manner.

Following Algeria's independence in 1962, President Houari Boumediene selected this site in the El Mouradia district for the presidential residence. The district's name honors freedom fighter Didouche Mourad.

The building blends Andalusian and Maghrebi design elements with courtyards, fountains, and ornamental arches throughout its spaces. Visitors notice how brass lanterns and traditional Islamic decorative details give the rooms their distinctive character.

The complex operates under strict security protocols that control all access to the grounds and buildings. Visitors should be aware that this is not a public site and cannot be visited casually without official permission.
