New Administrative Capital, Planned city in Cairo Governorate, Egypt
The New Administrative Capital extends across 700 square kilometers of land, featuring government buildings, residential districts, and modern infrastructure east of Cairo.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced the construction of this new capital in 2015 to address Cairo's growing population and create a modern administrative center.
The city includes the Nativity of Christ Cathedral, the largest in the Middle East, and Al-Fattah al-Aleem Mosque, accommodating 17,000 worshippers.
The city connects to Cairo through an electric rail system, allowing 48,000 government employees to commute between both locations since 2022.
The Green River Park stretches 35 kilometers through the city, making it twice the size of New York's Central Park.
