Sabil-kuttab of Khusraw Pasha, Ottoman educational fountain in Islamic Cairo, Egypt

The Sabil-kuttab of Khusraw Pasha combines a public water fountain with an educational facility, featuring traditional Islamic architectural elements on Shari' al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah street.

Built in 1535 during the Ottoman period, this structure was commissioned by Khusraw Pasha, who served as Egypt's governor from 1534 to 1536.

The building fulfilled two essential community functions: providing free drinking water through the sabil and offering Quranic education to children in the kuttab section.
