Church of San Miguel, Cuenca

The Church of San Miguel features three entrances from Plaza Mayor leading to a grand staircase that descends toward the Jucar River.

The original apse from the late thirteenth century remains intact, while substantial renovations transformed the rest of the structure during the eighteenth century.

The Renaissance facade displays intricate stone carvings and architectural elements that represent the artistic methods of sixteenth-century Spanish craftsmen.
