Museo Arqueológico de Murcia

The museum displays archaeological artifacts from the Paleolithic era through the late Roman period across multiple exhibition halls on multiple floors.

Founded in 1864 through contributions from the Provincial Monuments Commission, the museum initially operated in the Teatro de los Infantes before relocating to its current building in 1953.

The prehistoric art section emphasizes the importance of rock art in the Murcia Region, which received UNESCO World Heritage recognition in 1998.

The museum provides free admission, guided tours, educational workshops for children aged 6 to 12, and maintains wheelchair accessibility throughout the facility.

The exhibition includes a reconstructed archaeology workshop that demonstrates the scientific methods used to study and preserve historical artifacts.
