The church features a single hall-plan nave with ribbed vaulting and extensive fresco paintings covering its interior walls and ceiling.
Construction began in 1494 over a previous structure and was completed in 1515, with its current form achieved through renovations until 1539.
The church contains the largest fresco-painted space in Spain, with murals created by Italian artists Octavio Bernardi and Giovanni Gritti in 1948.
The church opens daily from 9:00 to 14:00 and reopens at 19:00, located in Plaza de la Iglesia with guided tours available through reservation.
The exterior wall displays the Peace Christ sculpture by Juan de Ávalos, alongside a commemorative inscription honoring those who died in Spanish conflicts.
