Myrurgia

Myrurgia is a rationalist-style factory in Sagrada Família featuring three distinct facades with symmetrical proportions and evenly spaced window rows. The building has a distinctive corner entrance and now functions as office space for the Puig Group.

The building was founded in 1916 by sculptor Esteve Monegal Prat and received the Architecture Award for Industrial and Commercial Buildings in 1929. This recognition confirmed the innovative importance of its design during the early modern period.

The entrance hall features a double marble staircase with an art deco sculpture by Esteve Monegal depicting the perfume industry. This kind of decoration was typical of factories from that era, which showcased their craftsmanship in interior details as well.

The building sits at Carrer Mallorca 351 in Barcelona and can be viewed from the street. The rationalist architecture is best appreciated from the sidewalk, particularly from the distinctive corner entrances.

The metal structure features curved windows and bronze panels with classical reliefs, documenting early 20th-century industrial architecture innovations. These technical details were unusual for the time and show how craftsmanship and industry merged together.
