Palau dels Català de Valeriola

Palau dels Català de Valeriola is a Gothic palace on Plaza de Nules in Valencia, featuring a central courtyard with cobblestone paving and sloped stone staircases. Gothic arches frame the open interior space, creating a structured arrangement typical of late medieval Valencian design.

The building rose during the 15th and 16th centuries on the site of earlier Islamic structures. A major transformation took place in 1727 when an adjacent house was purchased and incorporated into the complex.

The Gothic arches and stonework visible in the courtyard speak to the craftsmanship of its builders and their design traditions. The spaces show how medieval architecture blended with Renaissance elements that were added over time.

The palace sits centrally in Valencia on Plaza de Nules and is easy to find. Since the building now serves as an administrative office, access is limited; check in advance about visiting hours.

A 2006 renovation uncovered original wooden beams and ornamental details hidden beneath later layers. These findings revealed the authentic colors and patterns that once decorated the medieval and early modern rooms.
