Palau de Castellfort, Eclectic palace in Calle Caballeros, Valencia, Spain.
Palau de Castellfort is an eclectic palace on Calle Caballeros in Valencia with two prominent polygonal bay windows at the corners of its main floor. Each of these bays is crowned with a dome, giving the structure height and weight.
The structure was designed between 1903 and 1906 by architect Joaquín María Arnau Miramón as a residence for the Marqueses de Castellfort family. This construction occurred during a time when Valencia was growing economically and wealthy families were building impressive homes.
The building shows the tastes of Valencian aristocracy in the early 1900s by combining classical, Renaissance, neoclassical, and medieval style elements together. This mix reflects how wealthy families of that time wanted their homes to look and feel.
The palace is located at number 9 Calle Caballeros near the Church of San Nicolas and is now the headquarters of the Valencian Government Presidency. Visitors should know this is an administrative building and access may be limited.
The entrance hall contains a grand white marble staircase that is lit by natural light through a specially designed skylight system. This carefully planned lighting feature makes the hall an especially elegant entry point to the building.
