Edificio La Adriática, Eclectic building in central Seville, Spain.
Edificio La Adriática is a corner building at Avenida de la Constitución topped with a prominent cylindrical tower and dome. Its triangular floor plan features exposed brick, cream-colored surfaces, and detailed ornamentation in forged ironwork, glazed ceramics, and stone reliefs.
The building rose between 1914 and 1922 under architect José Espiau y Muñoz's design. It originally served as the main offices of the La Adriática insurance company and has shaped the cityscape ever since.
The building displays Moorish galleries, Gothic pointed arches, and Plateresque ornamental details that shape how the street looks and feels. These elements reflect how architects of that era drew from different traditions to create something distinctly Sevillian.
The building sits near Seville City Hall and is easy to spot while walking the historic center. The prominent tower and corner position make it visible from nearby streets, giving you good views from multiple angles.
The triangular shape resulted from fitting the building onto a corner lot. This unusual geometry showcases how local artisans applied traditional crafts in ironwork, ceramics, and stone carving to every part of the facade.
