The Fiel Contraste

The medieval official represented by the central statue verified weights and measures of goods at markets until the Bourbon administration standardized measurements.

The sculpture group marks the location of the former Alhondiga, the municipal grain market that operated during the Middle Ages near Pontevedra's city walls.

The central bronze figure stands 1.93 meters tall, weighs 300 kilograms, and the entire sculptural ensemble was created by Ramon Conde in 2010.
