Raunistulan rehutehdas, Industrial silo in Raunistula, Finland
Raunistulan rehutehdas was a feed factory in Turku featuring solid concrete construction typical of early industrial architecture. The multi-story structure dominated the Raunistula district with its functional design and imposing presence.
Hankkija cooperative established this feed factory in 1921 as a major production center in the region. The facility was eventually demolished and the site transformed into the residential Barkerinranta development.
The industrial complex represents Finland's agricultural development, marking the transition from wooden to concrete storage facilities in the country's feed production sector.
The site is no longer accessible as a historic location since it has been completely converted into a residential area. You can only trace the history of this place through the neighborhood's name and planning documentation.
The site was featured as a filming location in the 2005 Finnish film Tyttö sinä olet tähti before its eventual demolition. This cinematic record remains one of the few visual documents of the original industrial structure.
