La Grande Rue

La Grande Rue is a Grand Cru vineyard in Vosne-Romanée that grows exclusively Pinot Noir grapes. The 1.6-hectare property, managed by Domaine François Lamarche, produces several thousand bottles each year.

The vineyard was classified as Premier Cru for many years before receiving its Grand Cru status in 1992. This promotion recognized the quality that the property had consistently achieved.

The vineyard belongs to the Lamarche family, who have practiced traditional methods for generations and continue sharing their knowledge. Visitors experience a place where time-honored winemaking skills remain part of daily work.

To visit, you should arrange an appointment in advance, as tastings and tours are by request only. Staff members provide detailed explanations of the soil, climate, and production methods during your visit.

The soil is composed of clay and limestone, which gives the wines a distinctive profile with red fruit and subtle coffee notes. This combination allows the wine to maintain its quality over several decades.
