Chennai Aero Park is an aerospace industrial park in Sriperumbudur, in the Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu, bringing together manufacturing units, research centers, and training facilities under one industrial zone. The developed plots come ready with power, water, and communication infrastructure to support the companies operating there.
The park opened in October 2017 as one of Tamil Nadu's first steps toward building a dedicated aerospace industry in the region. In the years that followed, it expanded its focus to include defense component manufacturing alongside civilian aviation work.
The park draws professionals from across India and abroad who work alongside each other on shared projects, making it a place where local engineering talent meets foreign industry know-how. Students and graduates from Tamil Nadu often come here to begin their careers in the aerospace sector.
The park is located in an industrial area and is easiest to reach by car or private vehicle. Many parts of the site are not open to the general public, so any visit should be arranged in advance with the relevant contacts.
The park includes a testing and design center where local manufacturers can have components assessed against international aviation standards, something that was previously unavailable in this part of India. This means smaller suppliers from the region can now produce parts that qualify for global aircraft programs without having to go elsewhere.
