Kondarangi Hills

Kondarangi Hills is a sacred site featuring a temple at its summit dedicated to Lord Shiva and reached by stone steps carved into the rocky slope. The temple complex sits perched on the hilltop with stone pathways providing access to the main shrine.

The site was documented during British colonial mapping surveys that charted the geographical features of the region. This cartographic work formed part of wider efforts to survey and record the Tamil Nadu landscape.

The temple draws many pilgrims during three major Hindu festivals celebrated throughout the year when the community gathers to worship together. Local people view this site as a vital meeting place for religious gatherings and spiritual practice.

The climb follows marked paths with carved stone steps that are well-worn and easy to navigate on most days. Visiting in early morning hours provides the best conditions for the walk and a quieter experience at the temple.

A natural spring flows continuously at the hilltop, providing water to visitors throughout the year. This water source becomes a refreshing stop for pilgrims completing their journey to the temple.
