Santi Apostoli, Baroque church in Naples, Italy.
Santi Apostoli is a Baroque church in Naples with a single nave covered by barrel vaults. Four chapels line each side, each topped by small elliptical domes.
The church was founded in the 5th century on the site of a Temple of Mercury. It was substantially rebuilt in 1638 under architect Giacomo Conforti.
The interior displays frescoes by Giovanni Lanfranco depicting stories of apostles and their suffering. These works shape how visitors experience the church and connect it to religious narratives.
The location is easy to find and has regular hours for visitors. Visiting early in the day helps you experience the space with good natural light and fewer crowds.
The Filomarino altar, designed by Francesco Borromini in 1638, features mosaics created by Giovan Battista Calandra based on designs by Pietro da Cortona. This collaboration of major Baroque artists makes it a special element within the church.
