Castello degli Orsini, Medieval castle in Morlupo, Italy.
The castle features symmetrical rooms arranged around a square courtyard with a portico on one side and access to the main staircase.
Following the destruction of the medieval fortress in 1433, the Orsini family rebuilt the castle and transformed it into a Renaissance residence.
The castle entrance displays the Orsini-Aldobrandeschi rampant lion and the wolf with rooster, representing the Morlupo community symbols.
The castle maintains two symmetrical entrances: one facing the main square, Piazza Giovanni XXIII, and another facing the village.
From its watchtower, the castle provided strategic observation points over the Flaminia and Tiberina roads network.
