Description
The Church of San Lorenzo is a Baroque structure in central Brescia with a Latin cross layout and an octagonal cupola. The interior contains four separate chapels and two naves decorated with paintings by local and noted artists.
History
The original parish church dates to the 13th century and was completely rebuilt between 1751 and 1763 following plans by architect Domenico Corbellini. This extensive reconstruction transformed it into the Baroque structure visible today.
Culture
The church displays works by multiple artists, including a painting of Saint Lawrence's martyrdom by Giambettino Cignaroli. These artworks shape the look of the interior and show which artists the community valued.

Access is from Via Moretto, where visitors can easily find the main entrance. It is advisable to check opening hours before your visit, as the church may be closed at certain times for private ceremonies.
