Church of Saint Alexander, Religious structure in Brescia, Italy
The church features a neoclassical facade with Corinthian columns supporting an entablature, a triangular pediment, and contains eight chapels along its lateral walls.
The church dates back to the 5th century, underwent reconstruction in 1769 following damage from a gunpowder explosion, and received its current facade in the early 1900s.
The interior preserves notable artworks, including the Annunciation by Jacopo Bellini from 1444 and the Deposition by Vincenzo Civerchio from 1504.
The church opens daily from 8:00 to 11:00 and 15:00 to 17:00, offering religious services under the management of the Diocese of Brescia.
The square in front of the church contains a fountain designed by Giovanni Donegani and faces the Martinengo Colleoni residence.
