Church of Sant'Ilario a Port'Aurea

The rectangular structure features a semicircular apse and two turrets with tiled roofs of different heights, displaying distinct domes inside the building.

Built between the late seventh and early eighth centuries during Lombard rule, the church stands on foundations dating back to the second century.

The building takes its name from the nearby Arch of Trajan, which medieval residents called Porta Aurea, marking its connection to Roman heritage.

Visitors can explore the church Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 to 19:00 as part of the archaeological complex, which includes multimedia presentations.

Following an earthquake in 1688, the church transformed into a farmhouse before its restoration and conversion into a video museum about Trajan's military campaigns.
