Palazzo Muti Papazzurri, Baroque palace in Piazza della Pilotta, Rome, Italy
The palazzo features a grand courtyard accessed through a central triumphal arch, with two flanking wings connected by a Baroque architectural screen.
Mattia de Rossi, a student of Gian Lorenzo Bernini, constructed the palazzo in 1660 for the marriage of Pompeo Muti Papazzurri and Maria Isabella Massimo.
The gallery displays classical mythology frescoes created by Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi and Niccolò Berrettoni, two notable Italian Baroque period artists.
The Pontifical Biblical Institute now occupies the palazzo, maintaining a specialized library containing over 135,000 academic and religious publications.
During the 18th century, the palazzo served as the residence for exiled members of the Stuart dynasty, who rented the entire family complex.
