Palazzo ex Hotel Miramare

Palazzo ex Hotel Miramare is a neoclassical building in Reggio Calabria with three street facades addressing different roads. The interior combines neoclassical features with Liberty-style decorations and contains a basement level plus three upper floors with reception areas and dining facilities.

Engineer Ugo Fiaccadori designed this building in 1925, merging neoclassical principles with ornamental detailing. The construction period coincided with the discovery of ancient Roman remains uncovered during excavation work.

The palace earned recognition as a property of particular historical and artistic interest from the Archaeological Heritage Superintendence of Calabria.

The complex sits at the intersection of several central streets and is therefore easy to locate. Visitors should know that the building is accessible from outside and its architectural features can be observed from street level.

During excavations between 1925 and 1926, workers found Roman artifacts such as old wells, storage jars, coins, and colorful mosaic floors. These discoveries reveal that the site was occupied and actively used in ancient times.
