The Torre Caetani rises within a palace complex featuring a straightforward facade and three distinct floors surrounding a central courtyard.
The structure, constructed in 1564 under Alessandro Mattei's direction, later transferred to the Caetani family in 1776 for 39,500 scudi.
The interior halls display artworks by prominent painters including Paul Bril's landscapes and Antonio Cavalucci's central fresco of Diana.
Located at Via delle Botteghe Oscure 32 near Piazza Venezia, the tower now houses the Caetani Foundation and Brazilian Embassy to the Holy See.
The tower's walls contain a chapel decorated between 1590-1600 with Roncalli's fresco 'Vocazione di San Matteo' that influenced Caravaggio's later work.
