Nishikasugai is an administrative district in Aichi Prefecture located in the central Owari Region with a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. The district spans across organized neighborhoods that blend urban development with local infrastructure.
The district was established in 1880 when the former Kasugai District was divided into two separate administrative divisions. Throughout the 20th century, portions of the district were progressively incorporated into Nagoya city during different administrative reorganizations.
The district houses the Nagoya Airfield Terminal Building, which serves as the headquarters for J-Air, a subsidiary of Japan Airlines.
The area connects easily to major transportation networks with direct rail and highway access to Nagoya and surrounding regions. Visitors can navigate the district through clear street layouts and organized neighborhood structures.
The district originally extended to Nagoya Castle but underwent significant territorial changes from the Taisho Era through the 1950s as areas merged into Nagoya city.
