Saikai, Coastal municipality in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan

Saikai extends across 241 square kilometers of land along the northern section of Nishisonogi Peninsula, surrounded by three bodies of water: Goto Sea, Sasebo Bay, and Omura Bay.

The establishment of Saikai occurred on April 1, 2005, through the consolidation of five separate towns: Saikai, Oseto, Oshima, Sakito, and Seihi, located on the Nishisonogi Peninsula.

The Sound Shower Museum preserves 160,000 analog recordings, including phonograph cylinders and vinyl records, housed within a converted school building in Saikai.

Visitors reach the city through bus connections to Sasebo Station, as Saikai does not maintain direct railway services within its municipal boundaries.

The Yukinoura Guest House Moritaya, operating for over 90 years, offers traditional accommodations with tatami mats near the Yukinoura River and Seaside Park.
