Tokyo Skytree Station, Railway station in Oshiage, Tokyo, Japan.
Tokyo Skytree Station sits on the Tobu Skytree Line and features an island platform with two tracks for trains in both directions. The elevated facility connects the Oshiage district with other lines across central Tokyo.
The facility opened in 1902 under the name Azumabashi and went through several renamings over the decades. The current name was introduced in 2012 when the television tower opened.
The station name refers to the nearby television tower, which can be reached through a direct passageway. Travelers often step into the adjacent shopping zone with its numerous shops and restaurants.
The station sits close to the exit leading to the shopping complex and allows quick connections to Haneda Airport through transfer stations. Passengers should check signage for southbound trains on the additional elevated platform.
A new elevated platform was built in 2022 specifically for trains heading toward Asakusa, relieving pressure on the original island platform. This expansion improved passenger flow during rush hours considerably.
