Imaichi, dissolved municipality in Tochigi prefecture, Japan
Imaichi was an independent municipality in Tochigi Prefecture that merged with neighboring communities to form the city of Nikko in 2005. The area is now integrated into this larger city while retaining its historical identity in local memory.
This former municipality existed as an independent administrative unit until the major municipal reform of 2005. The merger with Nikko, Fujiwara, and Yumoto was part of a nationwide reorganization to consolidate smaller local governments.
The area is accessible through local roads and public transportation that connect to Nikko. Since it is now part of the larger city, visitors find the same services and infrastructure as anywhere else in modern Nikko.
