Izumo Science Center

The Izumo Science Center features interactive exhibits across multiple floors, focusing on physics, biology, astronomy, and natural sciences through hands-on experiences.

The center opened its doors in July 2002 and has since become a primary educational institution where local students from third grade through junior high attend natural science lessons.

The facility serves as both an educational center for school groups and a public learning space, welcoming 150,000 visitors annually to explore scientific concepts.

Located at 1900-2 Imaichi-cho, the center includes specialized laboratories, practice rooms, a planetarium presenting 15 different programs, and spaces for experiments.

The building incorporates green energy systems with photovoltaic panels and rainwater harvesting, demonstrating environmental technology principles through its own infrastructure.
