Shiokaze Park, Metropolitan park in Higashi-Yashio, Japan.
Shiokaze Park is a 15-hectare green space along Tokyo Bay with dense tree cover, numerous paths, and open areas for walking and resting. Views of the Rainbow Bridge and the urban skyline beyond are visible from multiple locations throughout the park.
Created in 1974, the park emerged from former industrial land in the Odaiba district that was being redesigned for modern use. This makes it one of Tokyo's early examples of waterfront land conversion into public green space.
Locals and visitors use the open spaces as a break from shopping at nearby Odaiba, gathering on the grass and paths throughout the day. The park functions as a social gathering place where people of all ages mix informally away from crowded commercial areas.
The park sits within walking distance of two train stations: Daiba Station and Tokyo International Cruise Terminal Station are both less than 5 minutes on foot. Main paths are clearly marked, allowing visitors to explore the grounds freely at most times of day.
The North Coast Deck extends toward the bay, giving visitors a chance to watch ships moving in and out of the harbor. This platform offers an overlooked view of Tokyo's working port that many people miss.
