Sagami-Ōtsuka Station, railway station in Yamato, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan
Sagami-Ōtsuka Station is an above-ground railway station in Yamato and part of the Sotetsu railway network. It has one platform with two tracks and features elevators, stairs, and a bridge to help passengers cross above the tracks safely.
The station opened in 1926 and took its name from a nearby ancient burial mound. It relocated closer to its current position around 1943 and was completely rebuilt with a new bridge in 1975.
The station is easy to reach on foot and has ramps, elevators, and accessible toilets for people with disabilities. Buses stop nearby and connect the area to surrounding neighborhoods, while clear signage in Japanese and English helps travelers find their way.
Each year around March, the birthday of Soni-yan, the railway company's mascot, is celebrated with activities, photos with the character, and model train displays. This turns the station into a friendly gathering place that goes beyond its role as a transport hub.
