Himonya Church, Catholic church building in Meguro-ku, Japan
The Himonya Church features modern architectural design elements while maintaining traditional Catholic characteristics within its residential neighborhood location.
Established in 1948 by Salesian Fathers, the church began as a simple two-story structure before evolving into its current form in 1954.
The church conducts masses in Japanese and operates Sunday School programs, including soccer and art clubs for elementary school children.
Sunday masses occur at 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and 6:00 PM, with weekday services held at 7:00 AM Monday through Friday.
During construction, workers discovered a holy picture of Our Lady of Edo belonging to Father Giovanni Battista Sidotti from the Edo period.
