Marina Hop, Shopping center and amusement park in Kan'on, Nishi-ku, Hiroshima, Japan.
Marina Hop is a shopping and leisure complex in Kan'on, Nishi-ku, Hiroshima, that spreads along the Seto Inland Sea shoreline. The site includes retail outlets, dining options, an aquarium, a Ferris wheel, and a roller coaster within an open layout offering direct sea access.
The site opened in March 2005 following plans by the architectural firm Azusa Sekkei. A major expansion followed in 2012 with new retail spaces and additional entertainment offerings.
The name combines the waterfront setting with a casual, hop-on feel reflected in the open layout facing the coast. Visitors stroll between shops and use outdoor areas for breaks with sea views.
Shops open at 10 in the morning and close at 8 in the evening, while restaurants remain open until 11 at night. Drivers find ample parking available, so spaces remain accessible even during busier periods.
A regular jet boat service takes visitors to Miyajima island in 20 minutes. This connection offers an alternative route to conventional ferry lines departing from downtown.
