Nanatsumori Kofun Cluster

The Nanatsumori Kofun Cluster features four remaining burial mounds, including two circular and two keyhole-shaped structures on a plateau in Sugao district.

Archaeological investigations in 1924 uncovered valuable artifacts including six bronze mirrors, curved jewels, and rare jasper bracelets within the burial chambers.

The burial mounds demonstrate the architectural methods of the period through their earthwork construction and stone coverings called fukiishi.

The site stands near National Route 57, with tomb B measuring 51 meters in length, containing a stone coffin that held adult male remains.

The area surrounding the burial mounds contains 200,000 red spider lilies, making it a notable destination during flowering season.
