View Fukushimagata

View Fukushimagata is a three-story museum with exhibitions about the area's wildlife. The collections document around 220 bird species and 470 plant varieties found in the wetlands.

The museum was established after the lagoon area became a protected wetland, marking a shift toward environmental protection in the region. This development helped raise awareness about the importance of these wetlands for local nature.

The exhibition shows traditional fishing methods and farming practices that communities developed over generations around the lagoon. You can see how people have lived with this landscape for a long time.

The building has an observation platform from which you can see far across the plain. It is helpful to check opening times and how to get there before visiting.

The observation platform rises about 30 meters above ground and offers an unobstructed view across the plain and mountains. From up there you can see the entire landscape that the museum documents below.
