Shibata Castle Ruins Park, Historic castle ruins park in Shibata, Japan.

The three-story castle tower displays black and white namako wall patterns, with three mythological tiger-headed fish decorations on its T-shaped roof.

Constructed in the 16th century, Shibata Castle served as a military stronghold until its partial deconstruction during the late 19th century modernization period.

The castle ruins integrate into the list of Japan's top 100 castles, featuring the main gate and Ninomaru Sumi Yagura tower as important national cultural properties.

Located 20 minutes by foot from Shibata Station on the JR Uetsu Main Line, the park offers parking facilities for regular and large vehicles.

During spring, 260 Somei Yoshino and 60 yaezakura cherry trees reflect their blossoms in the castle moat, illuminated by paper lanterns from 6 pm to 9 pm.
