月岡カリオンパーク, Public park in Shibata, Japan
Tsukioka Carillon Park is a 12-hectare public space featuring a carillon tower, children's play areas, and an observation platform with views of the surroundings. The site also includes a hall displaying sword collections and provides multiple venues for events and gatherings.
The park was developed as a recreation space centered on traditional Japanese arts and integrated a sword exhibition hall as a cultural anchor. The collection comes from Shoji Amada, recognized as a National Living Treasure for his mastery of sword craftsmanship.
Visitors can create traditional Japanese glass beads through hands-on workshops guided by skilled local craftspeople. This direct exchange between guests and artisans keeps traditional techniques alive and visible to those who visit.
The park offers parking for around 310 cars and accommodates buses, with easy access from Tsukioka Station by a short bus ride or walk. All sections of the grounds are accessible on foot and well-connected, making it easy to visit multiple areas in one trip.
A sliding trail winds through the forest for about 70 meters, offering an unexpected adventure within the natural surroundings of the grounds. This blend of woodland landscape with an active element is an unusual feature that many visitors tend to overlook.
