Maruko Castle

Maruko Castle is a medieval fortress in Nagano Prefecture positioned on a strategic hilltop with stone walls and defensive structures. The remains reveal multiple levels of the original layout with foundations and wall segments scattered across the site.

The fortress gained strategic importance in 1556 when daimyo Takeda Shingen expanded its structures. This expansion was part of efforts to strengthen military control over the surrounding region.
