Kōmyō-ji

Kōmyō-ji is a Buddhist temple in Katō comprising several connected buildings, including a ceremonial gate and halls housing Buddhist sculptures and religious artworks. The complex follows traditional Japanese temple design, with spaces arranged for worship and prayer activities.

An artificial island called Wakaejima sits within the temple grounds and dates back to the 13th century. This small island once served as a cargo dock for goods from the surrounding region.
