伊賀の里モクモク手づくりファーム, Agricultural theme park in Iga, Japan.
Iga no Sato Moku Moku Tezukuri Farm is an agricultural theme park in Iga, Mie Prefecture, covering 14 hectares and featuring hot springs, restaurants, a local shop, log cabins, and several farming facilities. The site also includes a working farm with pigs and other animals, as well as facilities for handcrafted food production.
In 1987, 20 local pig farmers established the Ham Workshop Moku Moku to produce regional meat products. The theme park itself opened its doors in July 1995 and quickly grew into a popular destination for families.
The name refers to the Japanese character for wood and reflects the use of traditional smoking methods in meat processing. Visitors can still see how these techniques are applied in the workshops on site today.
The grounds receive over 369,000 visitors each year and can be reached by train from JR Tsuge Station, followed by a 15-minute taxi ride to the entrance. Early arrival times offer quieter conditions, especially in the animal areas and at the craft stations.
A natural hot spring offers guests a chance to relax after walking through the farm grounds. The site also houses a craft beer brewery and a Jersey milk workshop, where visitors can sample fresh beers and dairy products.
