Boat Race Kojima

Boat Race Kojima is a racing facility in the Kojima Area with a 600-meter oval course built on an artificial lake. Six boats compete against each other in races that last around two minutes and consist of three laps.

Boat racing in Japan started in 1952 when the first official race was held at Ōmura Kyōtei Stadium in Nagasaki Prefecture. This sport grew into an organized competition system that now operates at multiple venues across the country.

This venue represents one of Japan's four Public Sports establishments, operating alongside horse racing, bicycle racing, and motorcycle racing facilities with authorized betting systems.

The venue is located in Kurashiki city in Okayama Prefecture and has designated viewing areas for spectators. From these spots, visitors can watch the races and follow the action on the track.

Competitors must undergo specialized training at the Boat Racer Training School in Yanagawa City before participating in races at different classification levels from General to Special Grade.
