Nabeshima Lighthouse, Maritime navigation lighthouse on Nabeshima Island, Sakaide, Japan
The Nabeshima Lighthouse features six round stone columns on its facade and utilizes granite materials from the neighboring Yoshima Island for its construction.
Built in 1873 by British architect Richard Henry Brunton, the lighthouse residence functioned as living quarters for keepers until its conversion to a Coast Guard facility in 1955.
The structure combines Western architectural elements with Japanese design, featuring neoclassical columns alongside traditional Japanese roof tiles.
The interior layout follows a Western design with a central hallway, while the bath and toilet facilities are positioned outside the main building structure.
The granite structure includes an attached stone storehouse and has earned recognition as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.
